Saurette commissions J.W Cooper
Cooper, also known as Jessica Cooper, is a Los Angeles based artist whose work in paint, ink, sketching and sculpture has been featured all over the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. She has always cultivated a deep curiosity for the natural world and is inspired by forms found in nature, fashion photography, and curio cabinets. Much of Coopers work features fantasy themed landscapes, which is what attracted Saurette designer Lisa Kanouse to her work. "As a designer, I am always looking for fresh & exciting concepts for future collections that spur emotional responses. When I discovered Cooper's work, I was immediately drawn to her whimsical artwork and knew it would be a perfect complement to the Saurette Fall 2010 collection."
The Fall 2010 Saurette collection has several pieces incorporating Cooper's artwork. From art printed tees to embroidered jackets and fanciful appliquéd dresses, the new collection hopes to spark imagination and gain a larger audience. The line is currently previewing with Thread Kids in New York City and Atlanta, AB Spoon in Los Angeles, Hope's Chest in Dallas, and New Age Baby in Chicago. Saurette can also be seen at the upcoming childrenswear shows: Stylemax: January 30-February 2 in Chicago, IL and ENK Children's Club: March 7-9 in New York, NY.
Cooper lives and works as an illustrator and gallery artist in Los Angeles. Her work may be viewed online at jawcooper .
